What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of awareness in which a person is more inclined to accept outside suggestions. By accessing the subconscious mind, the hypnotic state acts as a catalyst toward healing, enhanced creativity, elimination of disempowering habits, and countless other changes.
How can Hypnosis be of Benefit?
The hypnotic state automatically occurs anytime a person becomes deeply relaxed and/or highly focused. When performed in a therapeutic setting, the practitioner uses guided imagery, positive emotional states, and beneficial suggestions in specific alignment with a person’s goals. This allows for the subconscious mind to absorb and assimilate this new information to direct the body to utilize its natural healing mechanisms or create the behavior changes desired. Through repetition of these new thoughts, ideas, and emotional states, they become a new neurological pattern, or program to replace the unwanted ones.
What does Hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis has been described as an enjoyable, relaxed feeling; similar to experiencing your mind wandering through a daydream. Each person experiences hypnosis differently, but you may feel slight temperature changes, feel a comfortable heaviness or lightness, or slight tingly sensation. You will be able to recall everything that happened in a session and, most importantly, you are always in complete control.
